As the excitement of a new year begins to fade and many start to slacken on their resolutions, we want to remind ourselves that alignment is still possible. We can continue the journey of purposeful living and sustain alignment through our connection to the source.
Just as our bodies show signs when they lack water, our spiritual lives also reveal signs when we are disconnected from God’s sustaining presence. Spiritual dehydration often happens quietly. We may still be busy, productive, and faithful in appearance, yet inwardly depleted.
Spiritual dryness can surface through impatience, emotional fatigue, careless words, or rushed decisions. These signs are not meant to condemn us, but to raise awareness. They gently remind us of our need to return to God as our source.
Jesus reminds us:
“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.”( John 15:5)
Psalm 1:3 echoes this truth by describing the person who remains rooted in God as “a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither.” When we remain connected and nourished, fruitfulness follows naturally.
Alignment is not a one-time decision; it is a daily posture of remaining connected to Christ. When spiritual rhythms weaken, alignment fades. When they are restored, clarity, peace, and fruitfulness return.
Reflection for the Week:
Where might God be inviting us to remain more intentionally rooted and connected to Him for renewal and nourishment?
I’ll continue sharing reflections as we walk together toward purposeful living devotional.
