Happy New Month!

June, the sixth month, reminds us of God's perfect timing. In Luke 1, it was during Elizabeth's sixth month of pregnancy that God sent the angel Gabriel to Mary with the announcement of Jesus' birth (Luke 1:26, 36). The sixth month became a powerful reminder that, while God may seem silent, He is often at work behind the scenes, preparing the fulfillment of His promises in ways we cannot yet see.
Elizabeth was already experiencing a miracle after years of barrenness, while Mary was about to receive news that would change the course of history. Both women found themselves in moments that required faith, trust, and surrender to God's plan.
This month in our Purposeful Living journey, we will explore the theme:
Divine Timing: Trusting God's Work Behind the Scenes
This week, we begin with a reflection on Trusting God in the Waiting Season.
Most of us have experienced waiting seasons. In fact, many of us are either currently waiting on God, coming out of a waiting season, or preparing to enter one without realizing it.
Waiting seasons can be some of the most challenging moments in our spiritual journey.
You may have prayed, prepared, worked faithfully, and still find yourself waiting for clarity, breakthrough, healing, direction, restoration, or answered prayers. When the waiting stretches longer than expected, it becomes easy to wonder whether God is still working.
Yet Scripture reminds us that waiting does not mean abandonment.
When Gabriel appeared to Mary, Elizabeth was already six months into the miracle that many believed would never happen. Before Mary could fully understand God's plan for her own life, God was already working in someone else's story connected to hers.
What if God is doing the same thing in your life?
What if the delay is not a denial?
What if God is preparing circumstances, relationships, opportunities, wisdom, and spiritual growth before opening the next door?
Human nature desires immediate answers, immediate change, and visible progress. But God's timing often works differently. He sees what we cannot see. He understands what needs to develop within us before certain blessings unfold around us.
Waiting seasons are not wasted seasons.
Often, they are preparation seasons.
And while we wait, God is still working.
Pause and Reflect
What area of my life currently feels delayed or uncertain?
Am I trusting God's timing, or am I becoming discouraged by my own timeline?
What might God be teaching or preparing in me during this season?
Can I identify ways God has remained faithful even while I wait?
Scripture reminds us:
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."(Psalm 27:14)
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength."( Isaiah 40:31)
Waiting is never easy, but it is where faith grows deepest.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being faithful even when I cannot fully see what You are doing. Help me to trust You during seasons of waiting and uncertainty. Strengthen my faith when answers seem delayed and remind me that Your timing is always purposeful. Holy Spirit, teach me and empower me to wait with patience, peace, and confidence, knowing that the Lord is working behind the scenes for my good and Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
To Go Deeper
To go deeper in this journey, I invite you to explore:
This week, take time to reflect on God's faithfulness in past waiting seasons and consider how those experiences can strengthen your trust today.
Remember: Waiting seasons are not wasted seasons when they are placed in God's hands.
