God's Strength in Our Weakness| Purposeful Living |October Week 2

October Theme: Renewed Strength for the Journey
Scripture: Ephesians 3:16 (NKJV)
"That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man."
God's Strength in Our Weakness
Last week, we reflected on what happens when our own strength is not enough. We learned that recognizing our limitations is not defeat, but an invitation to depend more fully on God.
This week, we take that reflection a step further: How do we receive and live in God's strength when we feel weak?
We often pray for God to change our circumstances, remove difficulties, or make the journey easier. But what if, instead of immediately changing what is happening around us, God is working to strengthen something within us?
In Ephesians 3:16, the Apostle Paul prays that believers would be strengthened through God's Spirit in their inner being.
This reminds us that removing our challenges does not always demonstrate God's strength. In many cases, it is revealed through the transformation taking place within us.
Think about the difficult seasons you have experienced. Perhaps your circumstances did not change as quickly as you hoped, but you discovered greater patience, deeper faith, renewed courage, or an unexpected peace.
We often recognize God's strengthening work not because everything around us has changed, but because we are responding differently to what once overwhelmed us.
As I reflect on my own journey through education, teaching, leadership, and life's many responsibilities, I have come to appreciate that God's most important work is not always visible to others. People may see the accomplishments, but they do not always see the inner strengthening that makes it possible to continue faithfully.
And that is why we must continually draw from His strength rather than depend solely on our own abilities.
God may not always remove what challenges us, but He can strengthen us to face it differently.
Pause and Reflect
What area of your life needs God's inner strengthening today?
Are you asking God only to change your circumstances, or are you also allowing Him to strengthen your faith, patience, courage, and character?
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being the source of my strength. Strengthen me through Your Spirit in my inner being. Where I feel weak, renew my courage. Where I feel overwhelmed, grant me peace. Help me to trust Your work within me, even when my circumstances have not changed. In Jesus' name, Amen.
This Week's Encouragement
Do not measure God's work in your life only by what is changing around you. Pay attention to what He is strengthening within you.
As we continue our October journey of Renewed Strength for the Journey, may we learn to draw daily from the strength that only God can provide.
