June – Week 3: The Power of Divine Restoration

As we continue our June journey on Divine Timing: Trusting God's Work Behind the Scenes, we discover another important truth:
God is not only working behind the scenes—He is also restoring.
Life does not always unfold according to our plans. There are seasons of disappointment, delayed dreams, broken relationships, missed opportunities, and painful experiences that leave us wondering if something precious has been lost forever.
But Scripture reminds us that God specializes in restoration.
Through the prophet Joel, God declared:
"So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten." — Joel 2:25
While this verse speaks to getting back what was lost, it also speaks to God's ability to redeem difficult seasons and bring new purpose from old pain.
The story of Elizabeth reminds us that years of waiting did not cancel God's promise. What seemed delayed was never forgotten. In God's perfect timing, her testimony became evidence that He was still working behind the scenes.
The same is true for us today.
Perhaps God is restoring your hope after disappointment.
Perhaps God is rebuilding your confidence after failure.
Perhaps the Lord is opening a new door after another one closed.
Divine restoration does not always mean returning life to the way it was before. Sometimes God restores by creating something new—something shaped by wisdom, growth, and deeper faith.
Pause and Reflect
Is there an area of my life where I still need God's restoration?
Am I holding on to past disappointments that God is asking me to release?
How has God already brought growth or healing through difficult seasons?
What new thing might God be doing in my life right now?
The Word of God also reminds us:
"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth." — Isaiah 43:19
Sometimes God's greatest work begins where we thought the story had ended.
🌿 Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for being a God of restoration. Thank You that no season is wasted in Your hands. Heal the places where I have experienced disappointment or loss, and help me trust that You are still working behind the scenes. Give me the faith to let go of the past and embrace the new things You are doing in my life. In Jesus' name, Amen.
To Go Deeper
To go deeper in this journey, I invite you to explore:
This week, take time to reflect on ways God has already restored strength, hope, wisdom, or purpose in your life.
Remember:
God does not waste seasons. In His hands, even what seems lost can become part of His greater purpose.
