July Week 3: Walking in God's Purpose
As we continue our July journey on the theme Embracing God's Perfecting Work in Our Lives, we arrive at an important realization: God's purpose is not simply about where we are going, it is about how faithfully we walk with Him each day- Walking in God's Purpose
Many of us spend time asking God, "What is next?" We pray for new opportunities, greater influence, and open doors. While there is nothing wrong with those prayers, God often asks a different question:
"Have you finished the work I have already entrusted to you?"
That question has challenged me personally.
There have been seasons when I believed it was time to move on professionally. New opportunities appeared, and many seemed like the right next step. Yet as I continued praying, I sensed God reminding me that before He expands our influence, He often calls us to faithfully steward what is already in our hands.
Looking back, I can now see that some of the assignments I once questioned—including writing "Your Life After Salvation..." —were part of God's preparation. What felt like delay was actually discipleship. God was teaching me that purpose is the next destination, but in faithfully serving Him today.
Jesus reminds us:
"He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much." Luke 16:10 (NKJV)
Purpose is to live one faithful step at a time.
As we seek God's presence, trust His perfecting work, and faithfully steward today's opportunities, He prepares us for tomorrow's assignments.
🌿Pause and Reflect
What has God already entrusted to me?
Am I faithfully stewarding today's opportunities while waiting for tomorrow's?
Is God preparing me before promoting me?
The Word of God reminds us:
"Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established. "Proverbs 16:3 (NKJV)
Sometimes the next step in God's purpose is simply being faithful where He has already placed us.
🌿 Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for every opportunity You have entrusted to me. Help me to seek Your presence each day and faithfully steward today's responsibilities before longing for tomorrow's opportunities. Teach me to pursue excellence, serve with humility, and listen for Your voice as You lead me into Your purpose. May my life bring glory to You wherever You have placed me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
🌿 To Go Deeper
To go deeper in this journey, I invite you to explore:
This week, reflect on how God may be preparing you through the very responsibilities He has already entrusted to you.
Remember:
God prepares us through today's faithfulness before entrusting us with tomorrow's opportunities.
